Como todos sabem, Amazing Grace é um conhecido hino cristão, considerado um dos favoritos da América.
Seu autor, o inglês John Newton, teve breve passagem pela Marinha Real antes de se tornar comandante de navio negreiro.
Converteu-se após sobreviver a uma terrível tempestade durante uma de suas viagens, quando sentiu a graça de Deus.
A experiência serviu de inspiração para a criação de "Faith's Review and Expectation", um dos vários hinos que compôs, mais conhecido por sua primeira frase, Amazing Grace.
